Off/On

Off/On is an initiative to reduce energy consumption in the workplace. A significant proportion of the world’s energy is used inefficiently by businesses. Clearly if you switch off in the workplace it isn’t going to save you money. So the idea behind off/on is to motivate energy consumption behaviour change at work, through other means; you switch off at work, and switch a light on for someone who really needs it.

We developed a pilot which consists of an open source data platform, that collects data from “current cost” a real time energy meter. The data platform exposes a data API that we can use to feedback to the occupants of 16 Hanbury Street via digital interventions such as a screensaver, LED display units, or a facebook app.
